Managing Emotions

In this lesson, we continue to learn about feeling identification and add coping strategies. Beyond knowing what we are feeling, we need strategies we can use to manage our strong feelings.

Unity Principle #5 reminds us that it isn’t enough just to know something or be aware of it — we need to put those things into action. It’s how we put into action what we are feeling that creates our reality. We have the power over our emotions and feelings. However, there will still be times when we find that we have let our emotions have control of us, instead of us having control over them. When this happens, we can view it as a learning opportunity. We can think about the situation and discover things that we did that were helpful and things that we did that caused problems. We can use these insights to help us in the future.

Affirmation: No matter what is going on around me, I am grounded in God’s Peace.
