What is SEE?

Spiritual Education and Enrichment (SEE) Classes

The Unity movement is unique in that we have a wealth of classes available for spiritual explorers. Whether you’re interested in diving deeper into the metaphysical meanings of scriptures, learning about the origins of New Thought, or looking for ways to strengthen your spiritual practices, the Spiritual Education and Enrichment (SEE) classes provide a meaningful study of Unity principles and practices for adults.

To your right is a list of available classes included in the curriculum, which is offered on campus throughout the year, as well as online through Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute (UWSI). If you’re interested in a class but don’t see it on our calendar, please let us know. It is recommended that students take only one or two courses in a quarter.

Those completing the SEE curriculum for credit will receive a certificate from UWSI and are eligible to begin studies to become a Licensed Unity Teacher (LUT). If you are interested in pursuing this path, please reach out to the senior minister or one of our LUTs who is here to support you.

Why is there a tuition fee for SEE classes?

SEE classes are involved and encourage the practical application of what is read, which requires their facilitators to have extensive training and experience in what they teach. In fact, SEE classes can only be taught by LUTs or Unity ministers who make a substantial commitment to their training and licensure, which usually takes several years to complete.

To honor such a commitment, we guarantee each facilitator a minimum honorary and a split of tuition to cover their efforts, which usually far from covers the time and effort going into facilitating an SEE class. However, we are grateful to be able to share a stipend to offer this important spiritual education.

What if I can’t afford paying for an SEE class?

We offer a scholarship to everyone who would like to take an SEE class and is unable to cover its full tuition. Please read more about our partial scholarship program here.

Do I need to take the class for credit?

No. Any SEE class can be taken for credit or not. The difference is that there are some (minor) additional requirements, including paying an additional registration fee to UWSI directly. Otherwise, anyone can join the class and participate.

Where do I get more information about taking a class for credit?

You can learn more about Unity Classes and the SEE program here.

In order to receive credit for classes, you must register for the corresponding SEE Field Course through UWSI, in addition to your registration with Unity Fort Worth.

Can I audit an SEE class for free?

No. When it comes to taking an SEE class and learning the material, no distinction is made between credit, non-credit, and “other” participants. Everyone gets to participate (or not) as they see fit and no one is treated differently. As such, all participants are required to pay for the tuition.
