World Peace

Today’s Daily Word is “World Peace.” There is probably not a single person that I know or remember who wouldn’t support world peace. World peace is very dear to many of us, and we strive to do our best to contribute to it in every way we can. World peace is a worthy cause, a formidable focus to support and cherish.

What comes to mind when contemplating world peace is a distinction I learned between a peaceful feeling that makes us feel calm and quiet and what I call “True Peace” that lies beyond all of our experiences. In Philippians 4:7 we read:

“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

What peace is the peace of God? What peace can truly surpass all understanding? It seems to me that when we think of peace of God, we must think of an infinite source of Peace, a supply that never dissipates, never judges, never directs, but instead simply provides. If we are willing to let go of the idea that peace is simply the opposite of chaos and learn to appreciate that Peace is Presence in all circumstances and experiences, we might learn that World Peace is at hand right here and now, and that all it takes is for us embrace it and surrender to it.

Knowing that you are already at Peace, you may choose to go out today and experience life as the Perfection it already is. Peace is within you, always. Peace is God Essence that dwells within you… In partnership, in collaboration, in unison.

And so it is. Amen.
