Stay Warm – Stay Safe

Dear Congregants,

As this past winter storm is still affecting many in our area, we are asked to get ready for another storm rolling in. We hope that you are able to stay warm where you are or have found a place to shelter. We affirm that you are safe and have at least the basic necessities you need.

If you need any assistance, please call 311 (211 in rural areas). Several warming centers have been opened to offer a warm place to stay. Here is a link to a web page that lists the warming centers in our area, published by the City of Fort Worth: https://www.fortworthtexas.gov/news/2021/02/CFW-Opens-Overnight-Shelter.

However, please carefully consider the risks of staying home versus driving to a warming center as roads may be icy and too treacherous to drive on. Additionally, we are still in the midst of a pandemic and have to consider the necessary precautions accordingly. Try to stay in contact with a friend, a neighbor, or a family member to make sure they know you are okay and vice versa. The warmth of a caring conversation can do wonders.

Together, let us affirm that Divine Order is in place and that many are doing the best they can to keep us all safe and warm. We hold the Light for those in service to our community as well as those who are in need the most. We send safe and warm thoughts and feelings to everyone we can possibly include in our imagination. And, we pray with conviction as we see this weather to soften and mellow. And so it is. Amen.

For additional prayer, submit a prayer request, send an email to pray@unityfortworth.org, call our prayer phone at 817-423-2966, or Silent Unity at 816-969-2000.

Stay safe, stay warm, and behold the Christ in you,
