Love in Action: Uplifting Hearts with Handwritten Letters

This Week’s Intention

To express love through service, discovering that even small acts of kindness become ripples of healing, connection, and peace.

This week, we'll put love into action by creating heartfelt letters to uplift and connect with older adults who may be experiencing loneliness. Together, we'll discover how even simple acts of kindness can become ripples of healing, connection, and peace that extend far beyond our walls.

Come experience the joy of serving together—and see how giving love changes both the giver and the receiver.

This Week’s COOL Practice

Love is more than something we feel—it is something we choose to express. This week, we discovered that a simple handwritten letter can remind someone they are seen, valued, and deeply loved. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, has the potential to create ever-expanding ripples of love in our world.

Take a few moments to revisit this week's video and consider how love is calling you to action in your own life.

Write a letter of your own to a Love for Our Elders recipient: https://loveforourelders.org/letters

We’d love to hear from you!
Share your letters inspired by Love for Our Elders or your acts of kindness, as well as feedback about this experience via our online form: https://unityfortworth.fillout.com/love-in-action

Continue the Practice

Extend the practice of being love in action by choosing one act of kindness each day this week.

Ideas include:

  • Write an encouraging note.

  • Call someone you've been thinking about.

  • Thank someone who often goes unnoticed.

  • Offer your full presence to someone who needs to be heard.

  • Perform an anonymous act of generosity.

Ask yourself: How can I become an expression of love today?

Journal Reflection

After your expressions of love this week, spend a few minutes reflecting.

  • When have I felt most deeply loved?

  • How did it feel to intentionally encourage someone else?

  • What simple act of kindness could I make a regular practice?

  • Where is Spirit inviting me to serve?

Weekly Affirmation

Love flows through me freely, bringing comfort, hope, and connection wherever I go.
