The Ancient and Future Voices of our Ancestors
During our The Wisdom We Carry series, we’ve been diving into the impact and importance of our ancestors, which we typically think of as coming before us. In the final week of our series, Rev. Aliza connects us with their impact on our lives—how they have created (or helped to create) our current lives—and explores the question: what if we also have “future ancestors”, what might that look like or mean?
Since it’s also the Sunday before Halloween, we’ll be exploring the masks we wear, where they come from, and what happens when we remove them. For a fun touch, you're invited to wear a costume to service!
Mother of Unity
In the third week of our The Wisdom We Carry series, we're focusing on Unity co-founder, Myrtle Fillmore. Myrtle is considered the Mother of Unity, in essence one of our spiritual ancestors.
Along with Rev. Aliza (live and in-person), discover little known facts about Myrtle and her own ancestral lineage beyond the physical. Who and what energies did she embody and what new insights can we glean from another look at her, the heart of the Unity movement? Join us to explore Myrtle’s spiritual legacy and discover Unity’s ancestral roots.
From Their Light, We Shine
The autumn season invites deeper reflection and nudges us to pause and honor those who came before us. With our The Wisdom We Carry series, we celebrate our ancestors, mentors, and spiritual teachers whose love and wisdom still shape our lives today.
In the second week of our series, Dr. Nancy Little, LUT guides us in exploring how the light of past generations continues to shine through us. In turn, we then become light bearers for future generations. Together we will reflect, remember, and celebrate the eternal flame of Spirit that connects us all.
The Wisdom in Our Bones
Join us for our next series, Wisdom We Carry: Honoring Our Ancestors, Embracing Our Future, a transformative four-week series exploring the wisdom, blessings, and guidance passed down through our ancestors.
In our first week, Rev. Dr. Ahriana Platten invites us to step across the threshold into a conversation about ancestry, spirit, and the hidden wisdom.
Modern science calls it epigenetics—the way our ancestors’ experiences live on in our DNA. Ancient traditions call it the living memory of the soul.
Together, we’ll explore how the joys and wounds of those who came before us still ripple through our choices today, and how conscious prayer and loving attention can bring healing not only to our lineage but to our own hearts.
Come join us as we honor those who walked before us and open to the blessings they have placed in our bones.
