Message from the Board
Your board of trustees wants to share with you some of the exciting developments taking place at Unity Church of Fort Worth. As part of our commitment to renewal and transformation we will be holding the first of three peacemaking workshops on Friday, February 3, 7-9:30 pm and Saturday, February 4, 9:30 am-4 pm. We have chosen Rev. Anna Shouse, PhD to lead us. She has a great depth of experience in ministry and in peacemaking and currently serves Unity Church of Dallas. The theme of the first workshop is Conflict! Whoa – in a church? Conflict Transformation Skills.
As a service to our community we are providing this workshop on a love offering basis.
Anna will also lead a board development seminar on January 21 and has recommended a book, How Your Church Family Works by Peter Steinke, that the board and staff are currently reading. Copies are available in the bookstore if you would like to read it.
We are also planning on using some of our in-house talent for classes and workshops, including Non-Violent Communication led by Owen Kinser.
This coming Sunday our board president will speak during the service and a Q & A session will follow after services.
As we reimagine what is possible for our spiritual community we are committed to honoring and healing our past so that we can move successfully into our future.
