Unity Church of Fort Worth is starting a new environmental initiative called 'Unity Green Team'. The team is composed of five parts:

  1. Unity Green TeamEARTH CARE COVENANT - Ways we as individuals can care for the earth
  2. GREENING our CHURCH - Ways for our church facility to be more ecologically aware and green in its practices
  3. HOME (Healing Our Mother Earth) - Ways to educate through articles, ideas, and eco-tips in our newsletter, website, etc
  4. ECO/SOCIAL ACTION - Advocacy in green and earth-care issues
  5. INTERFAITH ENVIRONMENTAL ALLIANCE - Joining with other faith communities in Tarrant County to educate and make a difference
You can start making a difference today! Attend the Interfaith Environmental Alliance meetings, currently scheduled to meet on the 4th Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Peace Chapel. You can also download and sign our 'Earth Care Covenant'. In doing so, you are dedicating to change daily practices in such a way that they are benifitial to the earth.

If you are interested in being a part of this group and making a difference as a steward of our Earth, contact the church office at 817.423.2965

Unity Green Team News

The new 'My Personal Earth Core Covenant' was launched on Sunday, April 26th. If you haven’t got a copy of ways to live more ecologically pick one up in the foyer or check it out on the website.

This covenant is one way we as individuals can practice a greener approach to living. We may not be able to do everything, but every little change helps.

Another initiative is the setting up of the Tarrant County Interfaith Environmental Alliance which meets at Unity Church. A number of local churches meet to discuss how to advocate for greener approaches in our congregations, our county and state. We continue to invite more congregations to this alliance. Thanks to Gary Stuart, the executive director of the Interfaith Environmental Alliance which began in Dallas County and has chapters like ours in a number of Texas Counties.

Coming soon: Ways to green our church facility through an energy audit and other ecologically healthy practices.

Also remember to check out our excellent HOME: Healing Our Mother Earth column written by church member Linda Eatenson. (See page 11 of the newsletter)
