Minister's Letter

Paul John Roach, Unity Church of Fort WorthI recently read an article written by Rev. Julie Armour, the minister of Unity of Evergreen in Colorado, about an initiative they started during services answering the question, “How has Unity made a difference in your life?”  Testimonials are presented right before the offering and the impact on the congregation has been dramatic.

It got me thinking that this would be a great thing to do at Unity Church of Fort Worth.  How has Unity Church of Fort Worth made a difference in your life?  This question helps move us in the direction of appreciation, finding the good and sharing it.  As we do so we inspire others, and the community becomes enriched and empowered.  I am going to post this question, “How has Unity Church of Fort Worth made a difference in your life?” on our Facebook page and I extend an open invitation to you to share ideas there and in e-mails and in person.  If you’d like to speak during a service on this theme you can let me or the office know.

Having spent over 23 years at Unity Church of Fort Worth as senior minister, (which is close to 40% of my life so far!) I can attest to the fact that our spiritual community is constantly making a difference in my life.  I have learned so much and I am humbled and honored to serve here.  The kindness and generosity of so many people over so many years is an awesome testimony to the nobility of the human spirit.  The ways we have mutually supported and uplifted each other is something I deeply appreciate and respect.  Through highs and lows, good times and bad, the flow of Spirit has continued.

At this time of renewal it feels important to ask the question, “How has Unity Church of Fort Worth made a difference in your life?”  Let me know what has been meaningful for you.

Blessings,
Paul
