Greetings of Love & Happiness from YFM!

We are fresh back from Unity Village and what an awesome place! Bruce Verkruyse, Cheryl Chura, Cherie Coles and Peter Lufkin attended (and facilitated) a fun-filled workshop for Uniteen and YOU sponsors. We return refreshed, renewed and inspired to bring new joy songs and spirit filled lessons to our youth - including the smaller ones. (They like joy songs too!)

We did get to meet with Joanne Burns, our YFM consultant, and will be implementing her recommended changes in the coming weeks. We foresee our department being efficiently organized and streamlined for fun, frolic and fortification of the spirits of our youth! One new component will be regular assembly - meeting with all the kids: K-5, together in Johnson Auditorium for announcements, love offering, maybe a quick meditation or yoga lesson, then on to their classes. We plan to begin the assembly starting in June, in honor of the end of the school year and kids moving up to their new classes. We invite all families to visit assembly and classes.

Our teachers’ schedule is being filled in nicely. Thank You Spirit! It is an amazing opportunity to commit to teaching our kids for one year - giving them and ourselves - grounding in Unity principles so they may be “called out to follow the harmonious law of the soul’s unfoldment” (Myrtle Fillmore). We currently have a precious few openings in YFM. We see the right and perfect people filling in the gaps and are SO GRATEFUL for the wonderful, amazing, generous, beautiful, Unity teachers who are serving already!

Watch for fun-filled volunteer opportunities coming up this summer. We’ll be revamping the Sunlight Center, envisioning “Summer Fun Days” and preparing for the coming school year. Also, our recycling contest begins May 1st and runs through August. Our YFM is eligible for up to $1000 if we increase our paper recycling by 40% or more. Whoo! So, bring those old papers up here and dump ‘em in the bins in the south parking lot.
